The GaitMat II mat weighs approximately 100 pounds.

The GaitMat II mat uses pressure sensitive switches arranged in 38 rows of 256 switches each. The switches are on 15 mm centers, thus, 15 mm is the spatial resolution of the system.

The GaitMat II interface uses either USB or DMA to transfer data from the mat to the computer's memory. The temporal resolution is 5 msec, or faster, depending somewhat on the speed of the computer system.
